Cohesion Guidance event in Leicester
Representatives of BME, LGBT, Age, Disability, Religion, and Women’s’ specialist groups in Leicester participated in a consultation event to discuss the department of Communities & Local Government’s draft Cohesion Guidance for Funders.
Speakers included: Shahid Sharif, Chief Executive, Voice East Midlands, James Kingston, Cohesion and Faith Unit, Communities and Local Government, and, Isabel Hudson, Interim Programme Manager, National Equality Partnership. During the afternoon workshops discussing issues arising from the consultation were discussed. V4CE’s Head of Policy Arjumand Kazmi chaired one workshop, and the other was chaired by V4CE Partnership member Shamsher Chohan.
The event was held at the Leicester Centre for Integrated Living on 1st May and was attended by 25 representatives.
